Bluefin Tuna round coaster, melamine surfaced, heat resistant with a cork back. Made in the Britain to the very highest quality, 10cm (3.9 inches) in diameter.
Bluefin Tuna: Last autumn I was privileged to spend a day off Cornwall fishing for these iconic fish, part of my study in creating a new design celebrating this species for next year. The trip was part of the research project Thunnus UK, which is providing a better understanding of the ecology of Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) in the waters of the British Isles by attaching pop-up satellite archival tags that are released after a year, transmitting a summary of data. Although fish were seen none were tagged that day, but we did see plenty of feeding short-beaked common dolphins and minke whales!
