Bluefin Teapot limited edition

A medium fine bone china teapot, dishwasher and microwave proof. holding 1litre (1.8 pints or 4 to 6 cups). Decorated with a shoal of Bluefin Tuna paintings on both sides by Richard Bramble.

Inspiration for the painting: My brother James is a keen fisherman and for quite a few years has been going out for a days fishing in the autumn off the Cornish and Devon coast trying to catch one. This was part of the research project Thunnus UK, which is providing a better understanding of the ecology of Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) in the waters of the British Isles by attaching pop-up satellite archival tags that are released after a year, transmitting a summary of data. Plenty of marine life had been seen including including tuna and feeding short-beaked common dolphins and minke whales, and finally with myself observing on the boat in 2022 my brother caught one! Estimated at almost 400lb it was successfully tagged and realeased.
