Whole 725g side of Hebridean Peat Smoked Salmon with a large 65cm Salmon Platter

A truly unique gift of a whole side (725g approximately) of Hebridean Peat Smoked Salmon pre sliced with a large 65cm Samlon Platter to serve it on.

Hebridean Smokehouse peat smoked salmon. The smokehouse is located on the Isle of North Uist - part of the Outer Hebridean archipelago west of the Scottish mainland. They have been smoking locally reared and landed fish and shellfish on North Uist for nearly 30 years. It is the combination of excellent fish and the skills of their expert team that has earned Hebridean Smokehouse a reputation for producing the very best smoked salmon - in the words of Prue Leith, "the best in the world".

The fish used comes from the fast flowing tidal waters around the Island of Grimsay at the southern end of North Uist. After filleting, the sides of salmon are salted by hand using the purest of Dead Sea salt, then gently smoked in kilns with peat cut from the moors of North Uist.

This large salmon platter measuring 65cm x 25cm (25.5 inches x 9.5 inches) is made from hardwearing dishwasher proof porcelain (oven proof on a low heat for serving on but not to cook with). This unique shape is perfect for serving large fish on. Large platters are extremely hard to make (that is why hardly anyone does them now). They are all quality checked by the artist before they are sent out.

The artist's inspiration for these large platters came from fishing for sea trout and salmon on the wild and beautiful Outer Hebridean Island of North Uist where Richard spends part of the year.

For that extra special celebratory or wedding gift a personalised message or inscription can be hand written on any ceramic piece by the artist using a black ceramic pen. Please note we are only able to send orders with smoked salmon in to UK addresses, due to the risk of parcels being delayed by Customs at the point of import. 

Please note to be more enviromently friendly we do not use wicker hamper baskets for hamper and gift set selections now but use an appropriate cardboard outer box. Where possible we will gift wrap items or the outer box with an appropriate themed gift wrapping paper free of charge. We can also include a hand written greetings card free of charge with your selection (you will be offered this option at check with a box to write a gift message).
